I was more than a little thrilled when Karen contacted me and asked if I would be their Celebrant. I had known Karen for nearly 20 years as she worked in the same Shopping Centre where I had a business in for many years. I watched Karen grow from a young girl into a charming, beautiful young woman.
Knowing what Karen was like, I was sure that it was going to be a stunning wedding with huge attention to detail so I was very much aware that I would have to 'come up with the goodies' for this ceremony. She told me she wanted to have a relaxed style with a bit of fun – right up my alley! I immediately set to work after our first meeting.
Karen and John married at Belvoir Homestead. I love this place! As you wind up towards the entrance to this beautiful historic building, the anticipation is not lost once you get there. Inside is grand, and spacious while outside captures the beauty of Mother Nature.
Karen’s wedding was set up outside in a beautiful rustic setting closed in by stunning short limestone walls under a canopy of tall floppy trees. Their arbour was dressed in white floaty drapes and embellished with crystals that gleamed in the sunlight complimenting the matching Tree style candelabras standing proud at either side of the entrance. Her aisle carpet, was also white. The whole set up was just spectacular.
The guests were treated to a musical treat; the Riverside Ensembles string quartet creating a perfect ambience as each guest took their seat.
Karen and her bridal party walked down the aisle to the theme song from Game of Thrones and she made quite an entrance with the most beautiful gown bejewelled in sparkling crystals in soft pastels.
The ceremony was everything they wished for – relaxed and fun but also heartfelt and true.
It was an absolute privilege and a joy to join them in marriage.
